It's officially release day for

Her Favorite Therapist

Time to destroy our mental health!

The first day of the rest of this books life! I for one have never been big on publication days. A book lives a long time, and today is just one single day of that. Every day after today is another opportunity for a reader to find it. I personally love books from ten years ago and one hundred years ago, like time capsules to dig into the past and see the way the world changes through the eyes of the fictional imagination.

The ebook for Her Favorite Therapist is still set at $0.99 cents for anyone who wants to scoop it up. I released it wide which means it is in as many stores as it can be and is not exclusive to any single one. Of course, this book happens to touch on subject matters that most big booksellers shun, so unfortunately Barnes and Noble and Apple books and some others did not want anything to do with it.

In the next week I’ll be moving The Mia Thorton series to be exclusive on Amazon so I can put them into Kindle Unlimited where KU members will be able to download for free with their subscription. I removed them from this service a few years ago to try and see if spreading out was a good fit, and perhaps in the future it will be a good option again, but as of now, I’ve decided to turn back to the dark side… If you despise Amazon, you can still find my books right now on the other retailers which are linked here in this email.

Behind the scenes and other projects

I also wanted to touch on why I wrote this book. Why I write all of these books. They’re unconventional. There’s way too much cheating, which is mostly a result of my being a lazy writer who didn’t want to come up with a different character to feature in each new adventure and genre that I wanted tell. Thus, Mia was born into this insatiable sex monger who cannot control herself in front of a dick. This fifth book takes it a little more seriously, asking why she’s like this and just how bad the consequences can get, and I think by the end, she actually learns her lesson. But as terrible as the set-up is, I still find myself fascinated about the outcome because as a writer, I can never bring myself to stick to the conventional beats and pacing and genre expectations. It took me three books before I accepted the fact that a story can’t be a romance without a happily ever after, but on the other end of this spectrum, it’s probably going to take me ten more before I accept that horror is allowed to end on a bad note. I like the messy parts, I like writing stories I haven’t seen before, and I like learning from my past mistakes as a writer with every new story I tell.

That said, I don’t condone the things that Mia does. Despite how much I love her, she’s a really terrible person. But I hope as you join her on these adventures, you’ll be able to see her change and grow. She’s still so very young at this moment in this book series, and as I live the last year of my twenty’s right now, I’m very excited that someday Mia will also be turning thirty and forty and ninety years old, making new mistakes and still getting it on. But she’ll only be wiser and sexier for all those years behind her.

I’m also excited for the sixth book! Her Favorite House. It’s a sci-fi dark romantic comedy and it’s a little different than the other ones because it features a male lead who is essentially artificial intelligence (as well as being an actual house). Very odd how our world is changing so fast right now, because I drafted Her Favorite House in the spring of 2022, half a year before ChatGPT launched and changed everything. It’s easy to forget there was a time before we had all these AI agents capable of so many things. (I also feel the need to state that I hate AI and have never and will never use it to write my novels.) As I revise this novel, I’m sure I’ll be updating and correcting a lot of details to make it more accurate, but I’ll also be eager to see all the things I got right.

BUT before I revise that one, I have so many pots cooking on the stove. I’m currently back to working on my timeloop serial killer romance, Kill Me Not, which is now planned to be a five-book series about a girl trapped in a timeloop where every day, her and her friends are murdered by a masked man, and the only way to save their lives is to make the killer fall in love with her. Romantic, right? It’s a fun one. Much less smut, a little more murder, and somehow way more down to earth than the Mia Thorton series.

But without further ado! We’re here for Her Favorite Therapist. And it's been awhile since the last book, so here’s a recap to refresh your memory before you jump into the fifth book in this series.

Here’s what you missed

Mia graduates from her isolated all girls prep school and when her mom forgets to pick her up, she slam-dunks her virginity right into the first man she sees.

Coincidentally, he happens to be marrying her mother the very next day. Talk about awkward. But he’s just one man in a long line of wanna-be stepfathers so Mia knows it won’t last forever, and maybe before it ends, she can have some more fun--but long story short, he ends up dead like the rest of them.

Now the mother daughter duo is on trial for his murder and what else could go wrong? Mia’s good looks obviously, always catching the eyes of men she wants nothing to do with. So the Italian mafia boss, AKA the devil himself, decides she must wed his son

And it’s simply an offer she can’t refuse

So now she’s forced into the trad wife life and of course, she does terrible job of it. But if her new husband is good for one thing, it’s getting her off . WINK. the hook for murder!

Suddenly she’s a free woman again, but wouldn’t you know, the second son has an older brother who doesn’t take no for an answer.

But this whole time, her mothers been busy finding a new husband who brings along his own kid to the family portrait, a real brother just for her. He’s smart, attractive, the overly protective golden retriever type, and he is so very off limits.

Because one questionable decision later, they’re bonding the only way this family knows how.

By burying a body.

And everyone knows the best thing to do after murder is to pretend like everything is one hundred percent normal. Which in her case means actually going to college.

And yeah, Maybe she ends up being one of those girls who hooks up with her English professor, but who wouldn’t fall in love with a man who paints you like a French girl? The next move is clearly to run away with the guy,

but her damn husband has to get all territorial saying, “she’s my wife,” with a crowbar and his henchmen to back him up,

And we all know the only option after that kind of situation is couples therapy, and oh man, if he thinks this is going to make her calm down into this arranged marriage, just wait until you hear what she does with the therapist.

And that’s what you missed on the Mia Thorton Series!
